About
Hello! I'm Nadav Samet, a software engineer turned engineering manager with a deep love for technology and the great outdoors.Professional Journey
I got my first computer (Commodore 64) and started coding at a young age. I’ve honed my skills over the years learning multiple programming languages. Some notable projects are:
- ScalaPB - Protocol Buffers support for Scala. The project’s ecosystem include integrations with various JSON library, gRPC, and Spark. ScalaPB is used by multiple companies.
- The Python Challenge – An online puzzle in which each level can be solved by a bit of Python programming. During its first year, hundreds of players were playing daily. Many publicly admitted they got addicted to it.
- The MathNet Project - A sophisticated homework checking system and interactive lessons. It had a grading system that was integrated with Matlab which enabled it to accept mathematical expressions entered by users. The project, now discontinued, has been used by the Department of Mathematics at the Technion for nearly 18 years!
I find immense fulfillment in not only writing code but also guiding and inspiring teams to build innovative solutions.
The Great Outdoors
When not immersed in technology, you can often find me on a backpacking adventure. I have a a particular fondness for the High Sierra, where the rugged beauty of the landscape and the serenity of nature never cease to amaze me. Those trips energize me. There’s nothing like waking up early in nature and watching the sun rising over a serene alpine lake or a snow-covered peak.
Stay Connected
Thank you for visiting my little corner in the internets, and I look forward to sharing more of my journey and experiences with you. Stay curious, keep coding, and keep exploring!
